Scottish Power In-Home Pay As You Go
Hello
I've recently moved to new flat with a Scottish Power PAYG key meter. I learned that rather than having to go out to a shop or the post office to top up you can get a sort of dongle thing called a Power Pod which connects your key to your computer and (in theory) you can top up your meter at home.
I got my power pod and have tried to set it up and make my first payment with it but have run into some problems:
1) the website they tell you to go to doesn't exist
- they give the address as scottishpower.co.uk/PAYG which comes up with 404 error
- I eventually found their page on in-home PAYG (scottishpower.co.uk/customer-services/pay-as-you-go/in-home-pay-as-you-go) which I assume is where they want you to go
2) they tell you to use internet explorer
- I run windows 8.1 on my laptop and have IE 11 which I never use but somehow had accumulated a whole bunch of add-ons
-I managed to reset IE 11 to its basic setting and accessed the scottish power website, logged in and went to the PAYG page
3) nothing happens when I plug in the power pod
- Once I was on the PAYG page I plugged the power pod into my laptop and my meter key into the power pod and.... nothing. Some drivers installed when I plugged in the power pod but after that nothing.
- I'm pretty sure a new screen is supposed to appear and tell you to put in your details and how much you want to top up etc but it just isn't working for me.
If anyone uses one of these and has managed to get it to work could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you
TL;DR : Can someone please tell me how to use the Scottish Power in-home pay as you go system?
