I need to transfer from a 0% deal that's coming to an end this month.
I have a card I use for regular outgoings and they are offering a 0% rate on transfers.
I always pay off my "purchases" card in full each month.
I am happy to stop spending on the purchases card and switch to another, however, if there are a few straggler transactions, can I pay these plus the minimum for the 0% balance and retain the 0% for the balance transfer?
I've read the stuff on spending but it's not really written about my situation as it assumes regular spending.

You'll retain the 0% on the BT regardless, as long as you keep to the terms. You'll only pay interest on the purchases, as you won't be clearing the balance in full each month.0

Thanks - that seemed like the logical answer, but this from the six golden rules had me worried -
(from rule 3)
"So spending on a balance transfer card isn't as bad as it was, as repayments first clear the spending, but it can still cost, as you only avoid interest if you pay off the FULL balance, including transfers and purchases."
I only plan to pay off the purchases in full, plus the minimum for the 0% balance transfer.0 -
If you transfer the balance before the statement with purchases is issued, you will not get the interest on purchases waived as you'll have to pay the statement balance in full to avoid the interest.0

Thanks folks - it must have seemed like an uphill struggle
but I understand this now - effectively, as soon as I do the transfer (if I do), I start to pay interest on all purchases. Even though I intended to switch spending to another card, this could be a significant cost - I need to do it a different way.
