Cheap fish fingers and expensive grapes at Tesco

I was astonished at the price of 500g pummets of grapes at £2.50 this morning but equally astonished at 20 omega 3 birdseye fish fingers reduced from £4 to £1 reduced to clear at t3sc0.
I can't see them shifting many grapes at that price. Value grapes are half the price.

Since when is £2.50 for a single 500g punnet particularly expensive?

Tesco prices are going a little strange lately! seem to be trying to pick up extra pennies on random products.

I too have noticed recently Tesco pricing seems to be a bit strange. I get mine delivered and have also noticed the quality is varying each time too

As mysupermarket is saying the price is 24% above average and more expensive than any other featured supermarket including Waitrose, where are you paying through the nose?

You could always have got the Value grapes 500g for £1.25? They are seedless and I don't usually notice a drop in quality?

Just noticed you said that in the OP, sorry x

Just had a quick check on asda and the grapes only have two stars. Very bad reviews and the latest one, dated 16/05/15 says
Not as good as they used to be

I used to always buy these grapes but as other reviews have said, these grapes are now very poor quality. I have had to bin them after 2 days when before they would last a week. Very disappointed. Will not buy again.

Maybe there is a reason they are cheap at other stores.

I tend to purchase grapes from Tesco's only when doing a comparative shop against Asda, so I get the difference back therefore costing £2 for the punnet.

About a week ago Tesco grapes were £1.50. I am guessing that Tesco will shortly announce a massive reduction and start charging around the same price as everyone else. £2.50 but two for £3.00?

You're probably right. Only this morning I read an article about a Which petition against just this sort of thing. What I didn't agree with was that they though shoppers were taken in by such sharp (possibly illegal) practices.
