Hello everyone!
Thank you for all your replies and support, particularly from all teachers and ex-teachers!
Bexter, thanks for your reply, I am sorry it has been so difficult and hope things are getting a bit better.
Tigermad, I hope you have found something else and that you are enjoying it, so many young teachers leave the profession, its a crying shame! I have had 3 teachers crying in my office this week and its only Tuesday.
Super saving squirrel, thanks for your ideas, I have followed your thread for many a year now!
Whitewing, you speak wise words, thank you.
Dano, luck and Pluto, thank you.
So, today, two well thought of, long term members of staff told me that they were thinking of handing their notice in Friday.
And what will I do??? Things are definitely still in the balance. Resign now, paid till sept. Resign oct, paid till dec.
Decisions, decisions.

Sorry To hear you and other staff are having such a terrible time. At least it's only half a terms notice. Int the independent sector ( which is as bad as state at the moment) it's a terms notice

on Friday, you will know what you want to do. It is a worry that schools seem to be in a state of meltdown. We now have 3 vacancies, out of a department of 8, for September, and no candidates on the horizon. Not surprising considering the crazy Change for change sake roller coaster we have endured over the last twenty years. Not enough taking up the training and too many leaving - result - poorly qualified people teaching because heads are desperate. That won't help the improvement agenda, will it? Our leaders need to wake up to reality and let teachers do their jobs without interference.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Good luck today Hell1, whatever you decide :T:beer:
