Every few hours my PC internet connection hangs. The Devolo powerline utility shows the adaptors are connected, however there is no web connection to the router admin page. The only way to fix it is to disconnect the ethernet cable linking the PC to the powerline adaptor for a few seconds. On reconnection the internet is accessible with no problems.
Config
PC running W7 with an ethernet link to:
Devolo 500 powerline pair linked by ethernet to:
BT Hub 4 Router
Any suggestions as to where/how I should look for a permanent solution? I have run with BT powerline adaptors with the same problem.

If everything up to the local powerlink connector remains unchanged then the problem is with your PC.0 -
I quite oftern lose the connection through my powerlines (different make) and i just power it off for a second and then its fine again.
To prove its not the PC you can run a very long cable (up to 100m) from the router and your PC and see if you still get issues.0 -

Sounds exactly like my problem. I did have a pair of slow Comtrends which worked fine. I changed them for faster BT powerline adaptors and started getting problems. I changed the router for a BT one and still got problems, and then got the Devolo adaptors, still same problem. So everything has been changed except the PC but that previously worked fine.
One thought - I still have the BT powerline adaptors plugged in, I'll turn them off.
What make were yours?0 -
Try setting a static IP for your PC and see if that helps.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0

open a command prompt and do the following :-
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh interface ip delete arpcache
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
That will reset your connection and flush the dns and arp cache.
That should solve your problems ..
If it does not, then you most likely have malware on the computer
Or a faulty network card, which is unlikely, or the powerline hardware is faulty.
Also, if it is a laptop, make sure any wireless connections are disabled if you are using wired connection
