NatWest Advantage Gold - Advice please

Hi all. I'm after a little advice please. Back in 2002/2003 ish I was struggling with debt and was constantly overdrawn on my regular NatWest account. I had a personal loan with Intelligent Finance and a couple of maxed credit cards.

NatWest invited me in to my local branch for an account review and to see what they could do to help the situation, I can even remember the name of the advisor I saw, Kylie!

I was persuaded into taken the Advantage Gold account but the reasons for this I've long since forgotten. I always felt as though taking the account was the only option I had, almost like a last chance option the bank were offering me.

I've no idea how much I paid in fees, I wasn't the ideal customer in respect of staying within budgets and I'm sure the account ended up in default.

So, my question is, would it be worth me trying to reclaim anything? I feel they missold this to me, they took advantage of my situation, my inexperience and to some extent my vulnerability. I was only 21 at the time and going through a lot of difficult personal issues which directly affected my ability to think rationally.

Any advice would be very useful. Thanks in advance.

If you feel the account was mis-sold you can raise a complaint:

    https://www.natwest.com/global/contact-us/complain-js.ashx

    https://www.natwest.com/Downloads/global_options/complaints_leaflet.pdf

Any refund you may receive will be used to pay any outstanding debt you have with the RBS Group.

If you had an advantage Gold account at the time the interest rate would have been lower on your overdraft.

Also bank staff are not trained medical professionals they would have not known of your personal circumstances and that you was going through a lot of difficult personal issues which directly affected your ability to think rationally.
