Eon energy not billing and need to know what we have used

Hello everybody,

To cut a long story short me and my partner has recently moved in to a new property and set our dual fuel up with eon.

We have been racking out heads on the first bill while was in March and it was £193 for both, which for a bedroom house we found relatively high.

Anyway we have since kept a close eye on this, since our reading we have put several reads online only to not be billed??

I was wanting to know if anyone can help:

My opening reading afterour bills are a follows.

Electricity economy 7

O READ:
11795 (High)
46043 (low)

Today's read:
12210 (High)
47715 (Low)

My charges:
Day 13.514p per kWh
Night 5.061p per kWh

=
Thank you in advance

    Normal Rate

    (12210 - 11795) x 13.514p = £56.08

    Low Rate

    (47715 - 46043) x 5.061p = £84.62

    Standing charge

No. of days x daily standing charge =

Add them all up (having ensured there are no other charges/deductions involved in the tariff), and you have the total cost :)

Of course, if the previous bill you paid was based on estimated readings, then you may owe/be owed some additional money.

    The first part is easy!

    You have used 415kWh(units) @13.514p = £56.08 and 1,672kWh @ 5.061p = £84.62 so a total of £140.70

However we don't know your Daily Standing Charge(DSC) which you have to add for however many days that consumption covered.

Do those charges(13.514p/5.061) include VAT? if not add 5%.

Then subtract any discount for payment by direct debit if that applies.
  • Also make sure that they, and you, know day from night when the kwhr rates are added up.If its a digital meter find out which rates are day and night and the total. If its an analogue meter check the timerswitch to see if its anywhere near the correct time.

Spend 99p and get this app:

    http://grahamhaley.co.uk/meters/

Shouldn't really be necessary though as E.oN's My Account lets you post 12 meter readings between bills and you can ask for an account. When I post my meter readings, the site provides me with an immediate credit/debit balance.

    Edit:

I have just entered my meter readings and got this:

Thank you for giving us up to date meter readings.

    Your new balance for your accepted reading is shown below;
    £26.01 debit

This balance is a live snapshot of your account, using the meter readings you’ve just submitted. We’ll only use this balance if you ask for a bill right now.

We'll send you an email to let you know when your new bill is ready to view online.

There is also a button that allows you to request a bill.

  • 16.422p is my daily rate.

Thanks Gives me a piece of mind it's reducing from our first bill for £193 for 30 days use.

Good morning halifaxboi and welcome to the forums.

Already some brilliant advice on here, so thank you guys :D

The best thing to do is to set up an online account, as Hengus says you can then pop your reads in, request an up to date balance and it'll let you know what you've used in money.

If you do need any help though, I'm here and more than happy to help.

    Helena :)
