Morning,
I sold an item on eBay last Sunday for just under £20, the buyer paid quickly but it came through as an eCheque in PayPal. I contacted the buyer explaining that it had and that I would send items as soon as it had cleared, they were fine about it . Buyer said it must have come through as cheque as they didn't want to use their PayPal funds. It gave Fri as expected date of clearing, it is now Sunday and it hasn't cleared.
I am going to message them today and ask if they want me to cancel payment and pay again with PayPal funds. Is there a way of doing this without getting a defect? My other problem is that I go on holiday at the end of the week so would like this sorted before I go. I had left 2 clear weeks before holiday but this has now dragged out for a week.
Thanks

You might be best calling Paypal and ask if/when it's likely to clear first. With the answer your customer gave as to why it was an echeque I'd be slightly concerned that it won't clear, if they had Paypal funds there isn't a good reason not to use them.
If buyer is in the UK then it will only revert to echeque after debit/credit card and direct bank funding..0 -
Thanks for reply. Have called PayPal & they have said it could take up until Tuesday to clear! Nothing else they can do. They did say I could cancel it sand ask for another form of payment but would that cause me more issues with eBay.0
