your fault, no-one else's
i feel sorry for your new neighbours0 -
This thread is a joke. There is no evidence that the neighbour is to blame. When I have high winds I park on the road to avoid acts of God like this.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0

Why blame Robbie Fowler?
Can't believe this thread is still going :rotfl:
STOP FEEDING THE TROLL :money:All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
We'll see what happens now. The car is only covered for third party, so there's no reason for them to get involved - they're not going to pay out anyway.
The incident will then be considered in calculating your premium for the next 3-5 years, depending on the insurer.
Even if you lose, you must now disclose it otherwise your insurance could be invalidated in the event of a claim - so that the insurer might pay a third party claim then pursue you for the cost.0 -
Well, I've just sent them a letter enclosing the repair bill for the car. It was £539.95 in the end, as they had to do some respraying, so not a cheap job. We'll see what happens now. The car is only covered for third party, so there's no reason for them to get involved - they're not going to pay out anyway. The neighbours house insurance can deal with it.
So any response from the neighbours yet?0 -

Chase it, and if i don't get a response then, I'll give it up. I was genuinely upset as I'm really precious about my car, and saw it as more their fault than mine. I was surprised so many people disagreed with me about it, but it doesn't sound like it's worth all the hassle.0 -
Just an observation but several of you appear to criticise Mercowner / suggest he / she ought to worry about the neighbourly relations. Don't you think these young new neighbours have any similar obligations to Mercowner & family? So far they seem to have said "we're not liable" & not care at all about being neighbourly! Fair is fair surely!0
