Settled CCJ Question

I have a question about settled CCJ’s, if this is in the wrong place please feel free to move this post.
In September 2009, Westcot Credit took a CCJ out against me which I paid in full in November 2009. A few weeks ago I was checking my credit report and it showed the CCJ was active, I contacted Westcot, who gave me the usual run around but eventually sent me a letter of satisfaction, which I sent to the court.
I know CCJ’s stay on file for six years, is this from the date of the original hearing or the date the debt was settled? There was no date on the letter that stated when I paid off my debt only that it was settled

Hi
A CCJ once filed remains on your file for six years so should automatically be removed Sept 2015,
Check the date CCJ first placed, then its six years from that date.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks speedbird
I was half hoping that wasn't the case, I'm not normally a vindictive person, but all this has opened up some old wounds and I wanted to report them to the ombudsman.
The CCJ shouldn't have been taken out against me. I thought I had missed a payment and called them to pay, the operator said that I was up to date with my payments and I didn't need to make one. Two weeks later I received a letter saying that they had applied for a CCJ. I contacted them explaining what had happened and the operator basically said tough you owe us the money.0 -
Hey,
Westcott are notorious,
I guess you could take it to the FOS but it should be off your file in Sept,
As you paid in Nov 2009 it should be marked as satisfied.
Seems to me you were mislead by Westcott, then they did the dirty on you, then you were severely Penalised for 6 years!!
Take this to the FOS,heard so much bad stuff about them.
Good luck.0
