    Thanks all.

Based on my other thread "How long does it take to buy a house?" it seems I have underestimated how long the legal etc. items take to be done. So I will probably be here for a bit yet.

Haven't yet recieved any renewal documents from the LA - maybe they have forgotten! (Had them at the start of May last year).

Pretty sure that the Landlord address in my contract is made up:

    - Company listed doesn't seem to exist
    - Postcode isn't accepted on the Royal Mail website

I did have the title deed from the land registry which listed real people but can't find it on my computer now!

There seems to be a lot of confusion between contract and lease, and between fixed term and fixed term tenancy.

A fixed term tenancy ends at the expiry of the term no matter what.

A 'fixed term' may not be the end of the tenancy, just the end of the minimum term term of the tenancy.

It says it is an "Assured Shorthold Tenancy" so it is this one and just becomes a periodic one?
