Caught Speeding!! Now Court

Hi All

I got a letter through the post today saying i am being taken to court on 8/7 due to being caught doing 48 in a 40 zone!

Im not disputing that and will plead guilty by post, does anyone know what type of punishment i will receive?

Also i have a second charge, failure to provide information, basically they are saying they wrote to me on 22/01 to request info and i didnt

my argument is i never received any letters about it, what can i do about that?

This has nothing to do with parking. I suggest a visit to PePiPoo, they are the experts on this sort of thing.

    Hi Kim

You can (and should) defend the failure to respond to the s.172 notice on the basis that you did not receive the paperwork. Fail to provide driver info carries 6 points, whereas you're likely to get only 3 for the speeding. You'll also get court costs (if the offence was committed after 13th April 2015), prosecution costs and a fine.

You can either represent yourself or get a solicitor, who will likely charge you in the region of £300 to deal with it in a single hearing.

If the prosecution insist on taking the fail to provide information to trial and you're convicted, your costs will skyrocket.
    What will your verse be?
