How to do a compost bin

You need some "brown" in there, like broken up cardboard, shredded paper, tea bags and such like.
Be careful what food you're putting in there too  kitchen scraps like veg peelings are fine, cooked leftover food, meat, citrus etc are notI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Try not to add too much grass. Its a bit 'wet' I find a domestic compost bin takes about a year to make compost. I start mine off in the Autumn and just add to it over the year and spread it over the garden the following Autumn.0

Add some wee, how you get it in there is up to youEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

As above plus I've dug up and put in part of ant's nests to build up an eco system as well as a bit of soil. If you keep the lid on the heat generated will compost faster, but allow a gap sometimes for beetles to enter to keep down the small fly population.“Learn from the mistakes of others.
