Financial help with fitting a walk in shower

I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask in but...
My mother is 79 and suffers from arthritis and postural hypotension, she blacks out at times from the PH, she has not been able to use her bath for over 12mths due to mobility issues and the PH, she washes at the sink.
She has finally agreed to have a walk in shower fitted.
She has a small amount of savings, and is in receipt of pension credit.
Does anyone know if there is any financial help she may be entitled to, with adaptions in her home.

1st step is to contact social services and ask for an OT assessment, if there is no equipment which would enable her to access the bath the OT would need to recommend a walk in shower. If she is an owner occupier it then goes to another department who take her saving etc. into account when deciding how much of a grant she would get towards installing a shower. If it is a council/housing association they will be advised of the need and fit one.
One word of warning do not fit one yourself and then expect to have a grant towards the cost, as grants are not retrospectively applied. The whole process can take a long time.0 -

'She blacks out at times due to postural hypotension'. Using a walk-in shower may not be safe for her. What happens if she blacks out while in the shower?
A wet room sounds a much better idea because there's more space and/or a seat.
Some of the hotels DH and I have stayed in on holiday have actually come into the 21st century. Instead of providing a shower over bath - we can't climb into the bath - some of them have a wet room/shower room as standard.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0
