A more unseemly individual than myself may suggest that those who invest in such a company are likely to end up sitting on the barge poleMortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
Cashback sites: £900 | £30k in 2016: £30,300 (101%)0 -
I think we should now all be investing in barge poles.0

Students should be using punt poles on the backs, not common barge poles..... I wouldn't take a punt on these either.0

I would never in my life go anywhere near an unregulated investment, and I will not make an exception for Aspen Woolf.0

What do you think I should do?
In terms of the "opportunity" itself, as with all "investment opportunities" that can be found by searching the internet, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, don't invest in anything you don't understand and don't invest what you cannot afford to lose. Unregulated investments like this one should only be considered by people who could reasonably describe themselves as sophisticated investors.0 -
Thanks Masonic. I editted the original post so hope it's clearer now.
Interesting link re the streissand effect.
I've noticed the more active a thread is the higher it appears on Google.
If you Google aspen woolf this thread appears at no8 so hopefully this will raise awareness
Of course providing they declare themselves properly aspen woolf could always register and explain themselves.Left is never right but I always am.0 -
Thanks all I will ask my dad to stay well clear of these. What would be a nice "hands off" sort of investment?
Any reason why he isn't looking at mainstream funds? Trackers like Vanguard LS series are the ultimate hands off investment.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
My number one rule of investments is that I don't touch unregulated investments like Aspen Woolf.
I believe you English have a phrase about barge poles or something that covers this.Total - £340.00
wins : £7.50 Virgin Vouchers, Nikon Coolpixs S550 x 2, I-Tunes Vouchers, £5 Esprit Voucher, Big Snap 2 (x2), Alaska Seafood book0 -
I am always amazed when people invest in companies promising high returns for a limited period without applying the bargepole test. I am sure Aspen Woolf is a terrific company.Je suis sabot...0
