Yes wait until its got 130,000 miles and get one with a perfect service history and save ££££.

I buy cars with 120 - 130k miles and it saves a fortune, But ignore any with rubbish service records. The manufacturers figures are a maximum not a target.

If you find one that was serviced before the max limits and lots of receipts or clear signs of being looked after. My car came with the locking nuts in a proper case and a genuine paint kit for touching up stone chips.
So they didnt skimp on it.

Kia is a brand of bland, white goods that are sold not for their sparkling, gripping driving experience, but their pondering, banal durability. Recently they have chucked in a 7 year warranty to heat up the cockles of the insipid buyers who care not a jot for the rubbish under their seats. Unfortunately this warranty is only up to 100,000 miles, so as the original (probably company) buyer has wrung every penny out of its value, don't buy.

Bought the OH a 2008 Kia Cee'd around 9 months ago. 206,000 miles and a FSH.
All I've I've done to it is new pads all round, thats it got a years MOT on it.
Quite like the Kias, and will probably consider one when it's time for me to change.

The 114k wouldn't put me off as long as it's priced accordingly. Perhaps read some reviews on Honest John or similar and take it from there.

In addition, ask a nice, friendly trader to see what the real book price is on a six figure mileage example. You wont be happy.

Do they require any timing belt or water pump changes these cars? Best to consider this when buying a high mileage car.

Your kia you've seen could have done motorway miles hence the reason its prob high. Don't worry about it.

It wouldn't put me off if the price was right and it had a comprehensive service history.
Someone who does below average miles can actually benefit from buying a high miler cheap, as bring it back to average miles and lose less money on it as the start price was lower.
Is it a petrol engine or diesel? This would make a difference, Diesel engines are good for very high miles- think taxis and mini cabs and nearly all are diesels and the reason is diesels are good for 250000+ miles.

Put the details into WeBuyAnyCar and you will get a bottom book price.

CarGiant has 2011 Kia Sportage with 50/60k on them for around £10k or £10.5k

So the one you are looking at is about £2k too expensive for me to even consider.

In a minute you will have the usual posters saying how CG charge £99 indemnity fee, clearly displayed on every vehicle and all over their website.

A 50 or 60 thousand miles Sportage has another 40/50k of the 7yr warranty left aswell.

Obviously if you go for a top spec one it may be a bit more.

As you have not listed the spec of the one you are looking at.

    Kia - 4 years old - 114K miles - £10K:eek:

    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201504282987687/sort/default/page/2/model/sportage/make/kia/usedcars/quicksearch/true/price-to/10000/postcode/me158hb/onesearchad/used/radius/1501/channel/cars/price-from/7000?logcode=p

If you really must, then around the £7K mark for a low mileage example.

£10k, Are you joking? Thats mental.. Autotrader they start at £7995 with 140,000 miles on a 11 plate diesel.

Go for that one and save £2000.

Too many miles how about 118,000miles for £8500?

These are traders also so you should be able to get a few £ off those prices.

    £10k is way too much.
