Hi
Don't know if anybody can help but my friend has just got a job in Mansfield and needs to move there quite quickly. She'll have to rent somewhere at first but will want to buy a house asap and we know nothing at all about the area. We're hopefully going up there next week to get a feel for the place, but I was wondering if anybody can start us off with suggestions for nice places to live either in the town, or in commuting distance in the surrounding area.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
Thank you so much.

How close to Mansfield does she need to be? Does she drive?
I live near Mansfield, about ten miles away. Purely my personal opinion, but I would not want to be any closer! xGone ... or have I?0 -
Quite agree..if I was her / him I would go over the border into Derbys.......easy commute and much nicer to live in!! Ripley/ Pentrich/ Swanwick.......depends on their budget!0

I moved from Mansfield a year ago, lived on the ladybrook estate, didnt know at the time but later found out it was supposed to be very rough, how wrong people were. We had 3 great years there, had my lotus elise parked at the gate all that time never once did it recieve any damage. We didn't here a whisper. So my opinion is not to listen to much to the opinions of others. I only moved to be closer to my children in Nottingham, nows theres a place not to live !!! Once my boys have grown up I will be moving back to mansfield.thats my 2 pence worth0

I'd say over the border into Derbyshire too.
Swanwick, Oakerthorpe, Pentrich, Wessington, Crich.0 -
depends on budget too I guess ,Manfield is still a cheap place to buy a nice house0

If shes stretched on a budget try mansfield woodhouse, the house prices are cheaper and its only a short drive to the centre of mansfield.0
