What I find slightly hard to understand is the statement about help from forum.

I find it quite easy to understand - they're rattled and know they've not got someone who will be totally naive in dealing with this and meekly hand over their money to them! :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

As they are IAS they are probably alleging contractual charge, for which v.a.t. must be paid. Have they mentioned vat in their paperwork? If not, ask for vat invoice. If they refuse shop them to the Tax Evasion Hotline, and put them to stricy proof of their losses, (GPEOL).

For those who try to appeal to IAS, you will notice that the online system doesn't allow copy and paste on the appeal box. The work around to this is use Firefox and activate copy and paste function see (http://digiwonk.wonderhowto.com/how-to/re-enable-copy-paste-annoying-sites-block-0155910/) and then drag and drop the text to the box. The site will automatically delete pasted text immediately.

Hope that is useful when appealing to the IAS

No - but just think how much money you could make if you were :rotfl:
  • Just a quick update. As was expected my appeal was rejected by the very fair and just system operated by the IAS. Looks like I will know have some paper recycling to do...
