Weeks break in devon or cornwall ?

We need a weeks' break so last minute we ( 2 adults 1 child ) have decided to find a cottage or apartment from the 22nd/23rd May ( Yes I know..two weeks time ! )
Anyway we have found some in Sidmouth, Brixham, Fowey and Dartmouth
I was just wondering if anyone has any reviews on these places.
We are used to staying in places like Mevagissey, Looe etc so ideally we dont want it too noisy just a nice harbour, some nice shops and of course cafes !
Any help would be appreciated

Went to Sidmouth on a day trip, nice little place, nice centre with lots of cafes and different shops.
Look at a map and see what's nearby you may want to see.0 -
You might get better responses if you post on the section of this forum concerned with UK travel: this is the overseas part.
I can confirm that Sidmouth is delightful, but so too are the other places you are considering.0 -
When we used to visit Torbay we worked on the following :- Torquay for late teens and night life, Paignton for the Children and Brixham for the older generation, after living in Torquay for five years and moving back to Cornwall seven years ago I would definitely rule our Torquay unless you like Hen and Stag parties.0

Dartmouth is lovely.0

When did Devon and Cornwall leave the UK?0

All the places you mention are nice enough, just try to pinpoint exactly where the properties are in relation to themChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

Sidmouth is lovely but only if you want peace and quiet.0

Have you looked at Lyme Regus, small town with alot of caracter and lovely harbour but just into Dorset. Sidmouth does not have a harbour0
