ParkingEye LBCCC received in post over 14 days from when letter was dated

Hi I hope I'm doing the right thing in posting here as am after some advice. Like many others I had ignored the initial correspondence from ParkingEye before coming across these forums. I have since read over the information and was planning on replying tonight when I opened the post to find another letter from PE this time a LBCCC.
After reading the information on what to do I started to draft a letter however when I came to put the date of the letter I received today (14/5/15) I realised it was dated with the 30/4/15 meaning I am over the 14 days to respond.
As I only received this letter today I am after some advice to what I do next. Do I simply reply as I would if I still had 14 days and let them know about the date mistake or does this make it invalid and I need to write a different response or have I missed the boat to respond?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

reply anyway, dont admit anything , you can appeal anytime up to an MCOL being issued, but get free proof of posting at the PO for your latest reply/appeal0
