SIPPs could only accept transfers of protected rights from 1 October 2008, but you should of course have been told it was not possible in 2006.0

Incidentally how did the pension fare during the time they held it but didn't send statements? Based on my experience, eaten alive by fees, but hopefully you fared better.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

The outcome seems reasonable as you have not suffered financial loss. i.e. the pension fund is still there and you could not transfer it into as SIPP a the time. So, expectation would be a small goodwill gesture of a couple of hundred quid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
