Hi.
A friend of mine is selling his house and wants to know what people's experiences have been with'We buy any house'? Could anyone please offer any comments on this company? I'm assuming that the main negative is that they WILL buy any house....but at a low price?

They'll offer £X, and then few days before exchange offer £Y
Y = X - 20-30%0 -
So they buy a house and then sell it on for £10k profit, the question remains why not cut out the middle man and instead be £10k better off? every house can be sold for more than these companies offer.When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0

I would steer clear, can your Friend not put it on the market?.0 -
Thank you for that. Yes, I believe he is interested in selling it himself but doesn't know where to start.0

If they are like We buy any Car then they will agree a price then wriggle out of it and drop the price, as Guest101 says.0

Apologies, I thought you were referring to a way of selling it DIY/avoiding estate agents.0

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to?
DIY - limited advertising, almost no footfall, and doing viewings yourself.
EA - for 1-1.5% will guarantee x amount of views online and in person, as well as, access to an experienced sales team (usually)0 -

Totally agree with this. I shall pass this on to him. Thank you for the important information.0 -
Estate Agents will hold their hand through the entire process and will refer him to solicitor for conveyancing if he doesnt already have one.
The only reason to ever use these types of cowboys is if you need a quick sale. And they know that, so theyll string you along to the end and drop it £10k.
If you want to sell a house quickly just market it below the EA valuation.0
