Hi
I'm travelling to Thailand in November for 2.5 weeks, first stop Bangkok. I've read that you get a better exchange rate if you transfer money over there. (GBP-THB).
Are you best to take cash with you or pre-pay a credit card and buy it that way?
Can anyone suggest places in Bangkok that are worth considering for exchanging money?
Thanks!

We went about 5 weeks ago. Although the exchange rate is slightly better over there Thailand has no free cash machines. Each transaction costs a fee of 180 or 210 baht, which makes the difference negligible. The fees at exchange booths varied, but were no better and often worse as were the exchange rates.
We went for 2 weeks, took £300 in advance and then used some cash machines, getting £300 out each time on a Halifax clarity which has much better rates than most cards as you get a much reduced load fee. Credit card facilities are very limited outside of Bangkok, though we didn't really look for them. Cash is king. Cash machines are aplenty.0 -
Best ways are to take £s with you or to use something like the Clarity card to get a cash advance over a bank counter.
Super Rich is but one suggestion.0
