Parking contravention charge notice - apcoa

Evening,
I'm looking for some advice on how to handle the following 'charge notice' which was stuck onto my car window whilst parked at an Apcoa managed train station car park whilst at work today.
The notice is called'Parking Contravention Charge Notice'
The contravention is '05 - Parked over two bays'
The charge is £85, reduced to £50 is paid within 14 days.
I do admit that I was parked across two spaces, although as the parking attendant would have witnessed this was due to the car parked in the bay to the right of the space I intended to park in being around 1-2 foot into the vacant space, I therefore was parked in both spaces as they are quite small.
Do I have any grounds to appeal?
I have checked and I believe Apcoa are listed on the BPA but I have not seen much on this particular contravention or if indeed it's something I can appeal.
