Erroneous Sales

We all remember a few years ago that that big energy suppliers stopped doorstep selling due to giving false information to householders. It looks like the small ones are now jumping on the bandwagon. I had 2 consecutive elderly customers both telling me about the same company who had lied to them.

The first was told that all they were doing was fitting smart meters for everyone's energy supplier and wanted her to sign to agree which she did. When she was left with the paperwork she found it was a contract to move her supply. Another was told that they were helping BG and had gone into partnership with them so were fitting the new meters. Luckily she called me and now has a password on her account.

I advised these customers to report the company to Ofgem as once again there will be erroneous sales taking place. All energy companies need to give correct information to customers as it's things like this that give the industry a bad name.
