hi Maggie
just to say I had no luck with MD (as mentioned on other posts I have done)
we are with FOS now so just waiting for them to help us.
just got the disc with the first conversation/offer with first plus (my hubby spoke to them at his workplace so I wasnt there)
I have listened carefully to it and yes they did mention the PPI but what they didnt mention was it was a single premium policy and didnt say it was added to the loan all the lady said was the monthly payment inc the PPI.
no mention of 'so the loan + PPI will be ---'
so really we thought that the insurance was monthly and separate to the loan when you listen to this conversation
all they say is cash back cashback cashback.
I wondered why they sent this conversation because
The thing is we didnt take that loan offer at the time as they phoned back and said we needed to borrow more to cover the debts we had so we spoke to them again after then (a week later)but there are no other phone calls on the disc.
I might have to ask for them to be sent or see if they have anymore phone calls I could listen to.
just wondered if you had sent for your phone calls and what you thought they had offered you as PPI:rolleyes:

I have been trying to look for any posts regarding phone calls on disc from FP can anyone help?
what did you do next or what happened next?
WE HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED 78% rebate just got 22%

I've got a similar situation with GE sold to me by Loans etc.co.uk I'm self employed so my policy is also virtually useless. Actually I never received a policy and am not really sure that there ever was a policy issued. But they certainly added £2,500 onto my loan (which is way in excess of the cost of a PPI anyway). Should I take legal action against GE or report them? Please help!!!!0

 Sent away template letter on feb7th to RBS Hull, recieved a letter back from Bank of Scotland Edinburgh saying that my letter had obviously been sent to them in error and that it was obviously intended for somebody else. They inclosed my original letter and wished me luck:rotfl:
Took letter personally to RBS in Glasgow and handed it in recieved letter one week later saying
Dear Miss Smo
Thankyou for your query regarding your loan and insurance police. I am sorry you were unhappy with the service you received, but grateful you took the time to write and explain why.
I have forwarded your letter on to our customer relations unit in edinburgh, who will deal with this issue direct, and will fully investigate your points raised.
I appriciate your patience whislt we investigate your complaint, and am sorry that you feel we have caused you such inconvenience.
Our customer relations unit will be in contact with you within the next few weeks to update you of any outcome in relation to the investigations.
Incase you wish to take this further, I have enclosed a leaflet explaining the options avaliable to you
Your etc etc
***at the very bottom of letter ******
Financial services authority guidelines state that we can regard your complaint as closed if we don't hear from you in 8 weeks of this letter, so if you do need to take your complaint forward, please let us know within this time*****
My question is do I write to Hull branch stating that it is dependant on what is said by the edinburgh CR unit as to whether of not I take the mattter further as I have had no response from Edinburgh Cr unit? Also, is the 8 weeks time limit applicable to CR unit aswell, or does it all come under the same umbrella of one complaint?
Thanks in advance for any answers xx0 -

Hi. If you want to reclaim your PPI, start by sending off the template letters from this site and highlight the reason for mis-selling.
I believe they have 40 days to investigate and provide you with a full response. Don't worry about legal action or FOS at this point. Giving the lender a chance to respond could prove to be the quickest way of resolving your complaint.MSE - The Stig0 -

My husband and I took out a loan with Halifax in Sept 05 for £16,200 over 8 years to consolidate some debts that we had. In order for us to get this loan Halifax stated that we had to take out the PPI cover (totaling £6,702!). Unaware that this was not an option and the fact that I was despirate to sort my debts out at the time I agreed and got the loan. Having heard about this website and the fact that what Halifax had done was not correct I sent them the first letter. My response after 4 weeks was "During my investigation I have been unable to find any evidence on file to suggest that the adviser stated that taking out the policy was essential for you to get the associated credit"
What a response of course they wouldn't write on the file that they told me I had to have PPI to get my loan!
They have put at the bottom of the letter if I remain unhappy I could go to the Financial Ombudsman.
Do you think I should go back to Halifax again or go straigth to the Financial Ombudsman?
Isn't it just my word against Halifax?
I feel that they are calling me a liar.
Any advice would be greatful.
Thanks
I had the same fob-off letter from Halifax yesterday!
And although my first loan was six years ago, I distinctly remember the very nice loan advisor telling me that I would need to take out the PPI otherwise I'd struggle to get the loan.
I'm tempted to go straight to the FO, as I doubt sending a second letter asking them to reconsider within 14 days would do any good. Halifax are my least favourite and most inflexible creditors, and I shall be glad to be rid of them!
One thing is certain - I shan't be giving up! I had two loans (in 2002 and 2004), each front-loaded with £1500 of PPI and associated interest
Should my claim be successful, that would wipe out my debt with Halifax loans :TLBM November 2005: approx £32K :eek:Current debt: approx £12K :TGetting there one day at a time0 -
