Deductions from benefit

I currently have a deduction from my IS of £18.25 per week. I was expecting it to increase to £18.50. However I have today received a letter increasing it to £29.60.
This is equal to the ordinary repayment of £11.10 and the fraud overpayment of £18.50.
When I called Debt Management I was informed that the government had changed the amount that could be deducted and that they could not negotiate any reduction.
Has anyone else heard about this or do you think this is an error?

Only in cases of extreme and provable financial hardship. And, if I recall correctly it fraudulent benefit payments can be taken from DLA/PIP awards too.0 -
I read that they may well me misinterpreting the change by taking both normal and fraud overpayment combined.0

if you have been found to have claimed fraudulently ....
don't you think you should be grateful that they even entertain a claim from you?
you are in this position through your own actions.
suck it up!0
