Income related ESA question

Hi.
I'm after some advice on how income affects income related ESA.
Someone claims income related ESA (support group) and is claiming DLA (low rate mobility/high rate care) and lives alone. They receive full housing benefit and council tax benefit. They are considering someone moving in with them who is working and earns. How much income can come into this household from the person who works before it begins to affect the ESA the other person claims?
Thanks.

Regardless of earnings, ESA will cease if the other person works for 24 hours or more.

Not necessarily. It depends if the person who is moving in is a partner or lodger/boarder.0 -
It would be a partner moving in.
So what if they work less than 24 hours a week?0 -
ESA will be reduced £ for £ from the partner's earnings.0

Don't forget you'll loose the 25% single persons discount for council tax, which will need to be off-set against losses for CTxB and HB.
Visit entitleto.org.uk for a benefit check or visit local CAB, just take info about partner's earnings0
