I'd be asking the garage how they have confirmed it is worn.
What's the total mileage on the car?
Is it the 2.0 petrol or diesel?
£600 still sounds excessive for a Flywheel either way.
Full clutch kit here for a 2.0 GTI Golf, including Thrust bearing and Flywheel for £443 just as an example.
The company who make the clutch as well are Sachs so as good as, if not better / the same as OEM

43k on the clock, and its the 2.0 petrol.
I dont think the price of the flywheel is the issue, its who is gonna foot the bill, and who is solely responsible0 -
As far as I understand it you should persue the dealer. Tell HIM to contact the warranty company if he thinks they should pay. Problem is the dealer only has to fix broken bits. Some of the parts may strictly not need replacing but all sensible people have them done while you've taken the car apart. May be worth you contributing to make sure it's all properly sorted.0

You've found a fault. The dealer has offered to fix that fault.
Whilst doing so, he's discovered wear-and-tear that may soon cause a fault.
Pay the extra parts cost, and be thankful you've been saved paying the full labour in the near future.0 -

The flywheel being worn out at 43 thousand miles is a joke, my seat ibiza diesel 2003, is still on its original clutch and flywheel at 125k0 -

That's nice, dear. Meanwhile, here in the real world, even £13k cars with 43k miles on them have 43k of wear on them.

Hello. I had a similar issue. I purchased a car via Motonovo Finance and a dealer and had a airbag warning light present on my car from purchase. I did not know what this was until I got home from collecting the car and then I looked it up in the handbook.
I spent almost 5 months trying to sort it with the dealer who reset it a couple of times, with it returning in hours and then replacing a part which cleared it for three weeks but gave me two new issues, loss of steering wheel radio and cruise control, frankly the dealer JPH Auto's Wootton Wawen had, had their money and they did not care or make any other reasonable offers to assist me.
I spoke to CAB who look after trading standard issues now and they advised me my contract was with the finance company Motonovo and I should be pursuing the matter via them so I wrote to MOTONOVO.
I did and initially had partial responses but they did not answer me correctly, avoiding the issues I had raised. They then said the dealer had told them the issue was not present from purchase!! I issued a legal statement of fact from my side as I could see where this was now heading. So I have been around and around in circles with them now and I still have the car with the fault on and no resolution. (A fault which the handbook tells me not to drive the car with it present!)
I contacted them on the 30th April 2015 and still do not have a resolution or any proposal of one.
So I have had to now contact the financial ombudsman after receiving further advise from the CAB.
I have also spoken to the Financial Ombudsman Service and the lady I spoke to said "Oh don't worry we know about MOTONOVO and we have deal with them before!"
So I would recommend making sure you document everything and now communicate with MOTONOVO about your issue but be warned you will find it impossible to speak to them on the phone and to get a response from them to your issue. Document everything and prepare to be in it for the long haul and have to escalate the matter to the FOS as I have.
You will have the legal right to rescind your contract so basically give the car back and get your money back + any costs for damages such as your clutch and flywheel but you will likely have to make a reasonable deduction in your claim for the use you have had of the vehicle. They may also want to send an engineer out to see your vehicle, do this, what it will prove who knows but comply with their wishes and be patient. Good luck!
For any other post readers I would recommend giving MOTONOVO a very, very, very wide birth and use alternate finance provider if you can!!!!0
