Another claim thread Northern Rock

Hi

All very new to this claims business and need to know how far its worth going back for a claim ?

I took out a mortgage with Northern Rock and have had loans with them but it was like 1995 ish and loans were a little later. Is this too far back to make a claim as i know we were mis sold the PPI as we were young and bullied by the advisor.

Thanks

  • I was succesful with PPI compliants on a credit cards with Barclaycard and Yorshire bank, both these stretched back 1988 and 1989.

So make your own mind up if it is worth it.

Mortgage PPI complaints have a lower success rate but that can depend on the firm that sold it (broker/adviser uphold rates are lower than banks for example).

If it was bought in 1995 via an adviser/broker then its almost certainly likely to fail due to pre-regulation. If it was sold by a bank/society staff member then they will consider it

You will need valid reasons for mis sell, " a bullying advisor" is hearsay and can be dismissed.
If you had life insurance, good sick package from work or, other means to repay the Mortgage should the worst happen, these are reasons you can use for mis sell.
