Conti Board, Suitable As A Desktop?

I am considering converting a small cupboard in my flat into a hideaway office, I was thinking about using a sheet of white conti board as a desktop but was wondering how durable it is, is it likely to show signs of wear quickly and are there other materials that would suit better?

Conti board tends to be quite thin. If its a small area you may be fine but if it gets large it maybe too bendy without support underneath such as a frame/legs.
How about an offcut from a kitchen worktop - these are ideal and you can pick them up cheap...0 -
I agree with the above, in terms of durability for a desk conti would be fine but if you're looking at getting from the diy sheds it tends to be 15mm and so you'd need a framework below it to stop it sagging.
A white worktop can be had for about £20 and would be ideal. It would still need additional support in the middle if the run were substantial enough but I'm guessing from your description that wouldn't be the case.0 -
Thank you for the input, any idea where I can buy an offcut of worktop for £20?0
