The Ombudsman will usually dismiss a complaint about investment performance without considering its merits under FCA rule DISP 3.3.3 R (13).Personally, I think its nonsense. I've never known this to be a bartering situation.
If you genuinely think you are not being treated correctly then make a complaint and if still dissatisfied refer to the FOS.
So unless the OP can show it was wrongly calculated such a complaint seems doomed.
(I appreciate you probably know this rs65 but I thought I would clarify for others).
If the OP wished to check, then they should obtain something called the Principles and Practices for Financial Management for the relevant fund. (One of those linked here, I think). They would then need to demonstrate that their payout did not comply with it to successfully complain.
That seems a tall order as both the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority will be overseeing it so it is unlikely that LV would be getting this wrong.0
