NRAM and late payment markers

Just trying to get an opinion about some late payment markers I have on my credit file and if I can dispute them
To cut a very long and painful story short I was left in debt after divorce. It was acronmonious and took 3 years to settle.
In that time I went on a DMP with stepchange and paid what I could - no problem.
In June 2014 I received my consent order and tried to start putting things in order. From 2010 until 2014 NRAM had added late payment markers to my file but did not default me. I believe this is because it is a long term, unsecured element of a their Together product. I looked into the to ICO guidelines on long term loans and they seem to be a bit confusing so I have not pushed for a default on this account.
From June 2014 I brought the account up to date and have been overpaying so I am no longer in any arrears so the payment arrangement has now been removed. However, these late payment markers are still on my file. Could I put in a complaint to NRAM that according to ICO guidelines a person should not be disadvantaged by attempting to pay?
I would accept arrangement to pay markers but to state that I have been either late or missed a payment seems a little unfair.
I could appreciate any suggestions as to how I should go about discussing this with NRAM.

If the late payment markers are an accurate history of the account, in that payments were late or behind by what they show, then you will struggle to argue against them. Simply being in a DMP and paying what you can does not mean arrears cannot be reported as long as it is accurate reporting.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I don't believe it is accurate as they payment is due on 28th and they were paid on 25th by Step Change. I never missed a payment.
I agree that the payments were not the correct amount - however, to be given late payment markers for 4 years seems to breach ICO guidelines as instead of being penalised for 6 years as per a default then I will be penalised for 10 years.0 -
Payment markers on a credit file relate to and are measured against the full contractual amount due, which you were not paying. So you would progressively become 1, 2, 3 etc months late against that benchmark. That is correct if you were not paying the full amount, even if the actual incomplete payments were on or before the due dates of the full ones.
You can still argue the fairness point, but sounds as if recording monthly arrears was at least accurate in a technical sense.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
