0 hour contract/JSA

I have been offered a 0 hr contract also claiming jsa, can i keep my jsa claim open, what are the rules?
I am currently doing commitments that i have through a crown court. community service 200 hrs also i have to attend a course over 3 afternoons a week, basically my days Monday to Friday are committed to these court orders, therefore a full time job is not a possibility for the next few months.
I have a mortgage to pay, the better option is to take my chances on getting regular hours, my concern is what do i do if i don't get regular hours.

Last I remember "part time" constitutes less than 16 hours per week. So aslong as you are below this then you should still be on JSA. It will be proportional however to the amount of hours you work.
If its zero hour then it will constantly change, and based on that you'll likely have to report every week what hours you have worked. Usually during sign on they ask you the question and you can notify them?
If I were you I'd give them a call:
