I'm currently doing a Psychology degree (I'm in my second year) but I really don't enjoy it at all. Research methods is alot of hard work, and I'll not even get started on SPSS. I wish I had done another course now.
can you switch to a different course? it might be worth seeing if it's possible as you have a long way to go if you really hate it.

but spss gets a lot easier with practise. get andy field's text book (it really is the stats bible!) and see if you can just spend a few hours fighting with it. i hate spss (i'm a psychology postgrad too!) but i know i need to use it to work out significance...... it just gets easier the more you use it - promise!!

one thing to think about with research methods, is that you don't need to learn many facts - once you've got a clear idea of the way you need to think about it, you can then apply that template to any situation. in the end, i preferred that kind of thing to other subjects when i had to do huge amounts of factual recall... it can be difficult, but there are upsides to even the most boring/difficult of topics!

I'm beginning to wonder if this is the route I really want to take.

I think I need to get some careers advice!

Anyone else doing social science course? Reading what was posted earlier on in this thread makes me think this would be more suitable for me.
