Has anyone travelled from KL to Singapore by bus or train? I will be next January but have not yet decided whether to use bus, train or plane.
Is it worth, solely from a 'scenery' point of view, considering bus or train? I have read that by train you just see rubber plantations and by bus the fast road or 'motorway'. The sum total of the advice is that there is precious little 'scenery' to see.
From a time point of view (by plane I can maximise my time in KL by flying in the evening and still get to Singapore that day) I would prefer the plane as that will give me three full days in KL, rather than at most two and a half.
What are members' experiences/opinions?
Thanks

used the train into singapore from KL, was quite nice actually. , it stops on the malaysian border for inspection and 2 mins later on the singapore side for inspection. all in all pleasant journey but make sure to book in advance and book the better seats if u decide to take the train.0

We did it by train too. You have to take all your luggage off at the check station, but it was pretty pain free. If you go on the coach though there might be over nighters so you won't miss any days. Singapore is ace. Don't forget to go to sentosa Island. I went scuba diving with sharks, definately my top 10 of things I've done. I think it was there we went luging too which is a lot of fun. It is the most expensive of the 3 though:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

There's an overnight sleeper train - leaves at 11pm and arrives just before 7. A good option for not wasting time at airports and saving a night's hotel.

I travelled overnight from Butterworth to KL a few years ago - it was comfortable and surprisingly cheap. Beware the aircon though, it's freezing!0 -
We are off to New Zealand later this year and were looking at stopping at Singapore out and KL on the way back. Our friend who's a travel agent said that easiest way to do it was to fly with Air Asia from Singpore to KL and back as this meant we could stick with Singapore Airlines for the long haul and thus keep costs down. The flights are short and frequent (and seemed reasonably priced) but in the end we decided against it as we didn't a) want to much travelling around whilst in Singapore and use it as a proper rest stop and b) be worried that if there was any delays with Air Asia we would miss our flight home from Singapore0

I did it by bus about 10 years ago and there wasn't much to see - and I say that as someone who is generally a great fan of travelling overland to see the scenery rather than flying and missing it all.0

Thanks to everyone, especially andrewf75.
My interest is solely in the scenery aspect. Does anyone else who has travelled the route by bus or train have any thoughts?
Thanks again.0 -
It isn't really worth wasting a day ontravelover0

Thanks for your response.
I was coming to the same conclusion myself.
