I raised a paypal invoice and the buyer has paid it using the correct address. Paypal have confirmed it's protected and I've rearranged delivery.
Thank you all for your advice, it has been so useful

Yes there is if transaction is to be completely cancelled, I beleive OP wants to go through with the sale though.

Frankly though if eBay want to play silly games I can't see why OP can't now cancel using the 'buyer address' reason but still ask buyer to pay. After all , buyer doesn't need to repay now if they choose not to , seller can't do anything anyway. Cancelling the sale doesn't change that and sometimes we have to find ways to work round ebays punitive defect punishments.

Has anybody else got a view on this?

I did this and "got away with it". It was a PITA but didn't seem to cause any actual issues.

The eBay address is immaterial, it is only the paypal address that matters
Am I the only one who seems to be immune to this? I have never checked the Paypal address (in fact our order system downloads the orders from eBay and only uses the eBay address) and over 50000 orders later, we have never had a problem.

They are usually the same and I'm really only being pendantic. I have had issues with the address, but probably only twice in my entire selling history so it is hardly rife. I suspect it might start being more of an issue with the Argos click and collect and the GSP movement.
