Damp Floor!

Hi, I hope someone will be able to help me with this one!

Basically, I have a small damp patch on a floor board in my kitchen that has gone really soft. (chipboard type floor boards). Anyway, only bought the house last year, but it is still fairly new and in fact has a year left on the NHBC certificate.

The patch is near to where the external back door is. I was just wondering if anyone would know if this would be covered by the NHBC, or if i'll have to get it sorted off of my own back?

BTW, not exactly sure what the cause is but would assume it is water coming from the door / wet feet coming in from rain!?! There are no taps or anything else that might be leaking near this point.

Thanks for any help you can give!!!
