East London Pet (Cat) Sitter

<Mod/ administrator, please feel free to merge this post to the correct thread>

Hello everybody.

I live in East London (E1W) and I'm wondering if you could recommend a cat sitter you have used before. I will be leaving my kitten Chewy for 5 days in September for the very first time. I'm nervous leaving Chewy and house keys to a stranger but this seems to be the best option.

Also, please share tips/ pointers I should consider. BTW, what's the price range for this service?

Thanks!!!

Whoever you use should ask for all of your cat's vaccination certificates in advance (& should also refuse to cat sit if you do not have all of the right certificates)

they should be able to provide referencees that you can contact yourself
nothing to see here, move along...

We've used Animal Aunts (http://www.animalaunts.co.uk/) three times now, and they've been perfect on each occasion. We're about to use them again a couple of times over the next 6 weeks.

The Aunts are thoroughly vetted, insured, and all the rest of it. We've been extremely pleased with them, and so have our cats! :j

It's not cheap, but if you want absolute peace of mind, then it's well worth it. (Well, that's what we try to tell ourselves anyway!)

Hope you and kitty find someone suitable.

I live in Mile End and have used an excellent one. Don't recognise your postcode though. Is it Stepney/Whitechapel kind of way? If so, PM me and I'll give you her contact number.

If not, ask your vet. they usually have contact details for reliable pet sitters in the local area (our was a former vets nurse at the practice

My friends used to live in East London and they used
http://www.happyhounds.co.uk/ (they do cats as well). They used to call in twice a day to fuss and play with the cats, take them extra toys and treats, and then get milk and bread in for the owners when they got back as well. I think it was about £10 a day, but I'm not sure.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
  • Oh thank you thank you thank you!!! I live in Wapping and I think from your suggested sitters, I'll have a good chance finding one.
