I exchanged my Queensland licence, which I still have and is still valid, I only used that licence as it was about to expire so as I was going to have to pay to renew it anyway it seemed like the most cost effective option.

So in Australia you can have more than one licence issued in the country?

If so that will confuse the DVLA staff as you can only have one EU licence. I think your best bet is to deal direct with the DVLA.

In theory you can't, but in reality it used to be possible, instead of swapping drivers licences when moving from state to state, it was easier and cheaper to simply exchange my New Zealand licence for a licence in the different state ;)

It may be worth asking on http://forums.pepipoo.com as they might be able to give you more detailed advice although I don't think you're going to be able to do what you want - while you have all these licenses, the only one that actually matters legally in the UK now you've exchanged licenses is your UK license. And I'd be surprised if you'll be able to add further entitlements or backdate it before its issue date regardless of the state of your other licenses.

My UK drivers licence was obtained by handing over a licence from Queensland Australia, my existing UK licence therefore has a licence valid from date which shows the date I obtained my Queensland licence, via exchange, some 15 years after I obtained my initial driving licence :o

I obtained my UK licence by handing in my Australian (State of Victoria, probationary car licence obtained in 1993, and motorcycle licence in 2001) licence in August 2006.

The UK licence shows date from <08-08-06, and the code is 70AUS. It doesn't show 1993.

My licence has various categories all with a date < 01/10/75. I just have to accept that as the entry given by DVLA. I cannot see what the benefit is to trying to change the date to the "Correct" one and I know that I cannot change it to show the actual date I passed by car test and obtained all the associated categories. Even the Cat D which test was passed in 1973 shows a date <01/04/91. These entries are not incorrect. Why the issue?
