Hello..
This year ive come to realise that forums and communtiy support can help you with your problems.
The majority of my debt has come from a gambling problem that i have finally beat after 7 years. It's also made up of car finance and general overspending.
My current debt currently stands at £20486 (10375.30 Loan) (5258.02 0%interest Credit Card) (4401.70 loan from work to buy house).
My payments are currently pretty hefty and have been for the last year since i consolidated most of my debt into the loan and mine and my partners overdrafts onto the credit card. I currently pay £451.10 a month on the loan and 1% of the credit card balance, currently £52. I pay £70 a month for my work loan but that comes straight out of my pay so i dont even see it.
I also have a house with a 137,000 mortgage at 3.99%. I'm waiting until ive paid off my loan until i try and remortgage as im afraid i'll get rejected and affect my credit score which is currently 999 on credit expert.
I get paid about £2000 a month and my bills total £1700.. Me and my partner have struggled to do anything for the last year as we have been so focused on clearing the debt. I cant wait until its gone so we can do up our house and maybe go on holiday for the first time in 3 years.
The good news is that the end is in sight.. I get a bonus at work this month of £6250(Not certain what it will be after tax and NI??) and a family member who won some money on the lottery has given me £2000. We are thinking of taking 2 months of mortgage holidays to get an extra £1300 towards the debt, and then borrowing the rest off my parents to save about £500 by paying it back 2 years early. Hopefully we can pay it off in june or july! We're only interested in clearing the loan at the minute because of the amount each month. The credit card has another 27 months interest free so that can sit on the back burner.
Any tips or advice would be welcome
