If you're going to have the car on the road, then you need to re-tax it.
If it's going to be uninsured, or you're not going to re-tax it, then it needs to be physically off the road, and you need to SORN it.0 -
yes go online enter the details and SORN it , unless its going to be parked on the road , in which case organise insurance and re tax

Thanks.
The car's off the road in her garage.
Did the SORN online - many thanks again - that's another worry sorted at such a sad time.

I would just say, that since the abolition of the tax disc, I have not received any reminders for my car in the garage under SORN, and I never received a reminder for our car which we use every day - luckily I am organised and knew that it was due to be taxed.
Have the government not only got rid of tax discs, but also the reminders of when your tax is due?
Call me cynical, but I see this as a revenue boosting enterprise scheme.0 -
no tax reminders still come (two here) however sorn is now continuous and does not need to be updated anymore (upto a new owner buying it )0

You haven't had any of them since the end of 2013, because SORN doesn't expire now.and I never received a reminder for our car which we use every day - luckily I am organised and knew that it was due to be taxed.

Reminders are still issued.Call me cynical, but I see this as a revenue boosting enterprise scheme.
Look hard enough, you can say that about almost anything.0
