Buying in Ireland.

Hi,
I was hoping for some advice on my current situation. I've recently sold my property in the UK and placed an offer on a property in The Republic of Ireland. My dilemma lies in how to go about transferring Sterling to Euro. Obviously I have done a bit of research and that suggests going with a bank transfer is costly. Has anyone been in the same position and can recommend the process on how you went about getting the best conversion rates with the lowest fees?
Thanks in advance.

I have a flat in Dublin if you want it - you can have it! Take the flat and the mortgage to go with it and I would be happy! Mega negative equity, we bought just before the property crash. Thankfully we have been able to get mortgages on return to UK!
Good luck, sorry I cant remember how we transferred money, hubby always done it.0 -

I have just transferred a lump some to Ireland. I used an online broker, the rate was better then my bank and got there next day. Not sure if I can name it, but message me and I can send it.0 -
May I suggest Transferwise. I've used them a few times to transfer money from sterling to dollars and have been pretty please with them.0
