PIP awards being reconsidered early ?

I was awarded PIP with effect from April 2013 for a period of 3 years. Yesterday I received a letter from DWP advising me that I needed to complete the enclosed claim form and return it by 30th May in order for them to reassess my claim.

So, in essence, it seems that a 3 year award is actually a 2 year award which they will then take a reconsideration on.

Has anyone else had such a letter ?
Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............

    This is common practice.

In short - the system is hopelessly clogged, so instead of fixing it, they are inconveniencing claimants.

You will still get a 3 year award up to April 2016.
What the DWP would like is to get the renewal forms in early so that they have the time to review the claim so that any new award can run from the date that the old one finishes. You wouldn't be too happy if there was a delay in April 2016 and you didn't receive any money until the new award was made. They are basically trying to help you have continuity of payment.

So, they are awarding based on a 30-40 week old form, when the claimants condition may have considerably worsened.
Exactly how is this helping the claimant versus doing it promptly?

Well I'm not sure what is going on but I sent the form off last week and today I have an appointment letter from Atos for an assessment in 2 weeks time on 3rd June.
