wiplash claim advise please

 Hello I just wondered if anyone can tell me if it is better to go through my own insurance or the person who went up the back of me's insurance.

She has admitted it was her fault and my car is getting fixed (after a lot of hart achethrough my insurance) but I am claiming for wiplash (i am having treatment) however my insurance company is terrible at keeping me informed:mad: And 'her' insurance company has been very good! I cant seem to get hold of the right department with mine to talk to someone about this and it is really starting to annoy me! But the other insurance company phoned me today about the wiplash and said I can deal directly with them?

Is this a wise move to do this or will it be ok or does it make no difference - they seem a lot better than mine and she said it would be easier for me but I dont know if she is just saying that! I tried to contact my insurance people but I still cant seem to talk to the right person!!

this is really starting to stress me out now and I cant believe how bad my insurance company is!!

So will it be ok to deal with the other person who hit me insurance? - I hope so:o

If you have legal expenses cover I would pursue the personal injury claim through that. The third party insurers will only really hope you deal with them directly so they can save money on the payout!

As far as the repairs to your car are concerned - compare your insurer with the third party insurer on things like courtesy cars, how long repairs are guaranteed for before making your decision.

One of the most reliable indicators of how good a motor insurer's service is overall is how they deal with third party claims where liability is not in dispute.

Ok thank you very much:T I will persue with my insurer then! I have a good mind not to stay with them when my renewal is due the only thing is that I liked was they did agree a value for my mini at £4000 -(this cost me an extra £15 on the policy)
