Tile Maze refusing to refund my full amount

Hi,

Need some advise please.

I bought some tiles from a company called Tile Maze based in Telford & Shrewsbury. These were bought in trust and faith of their staff. I was asked to bring in dimensions as they were not willing to travel to Birmingham to measure my kitchen.

As you can imagine I was left with a surplus number of tiles left still in their box.

Tried to take it back and originally advised that the store can only issue a refund up to £100 and as it was higher head office would need to issue it.

I'm now being told that they will only issue a refund of 20% of my order and that it's written on my invoice even though he wrote on my invoice that I will be refunded the full amount.

When questioning the staff member became very rude and abrupt and agressive refusing to give me the number for head office which I then got through companies house.

I've emailed the head office branch but don't know how I can get this resolved.

Any advice at all?

The member of staff who wrote on the invoice will over ride the companies T&C's, this would be the difference between them getting the sale or not so is an important part of the contract.


Problem you have is only a court can make them honour it, it wouldn't be hard to win but is it worth the effort.


try scanning the receipt and send it as an attachment to head office reminding them of their obligation to honour a contract.

I just wish they would honour it and i'd happily be on my way.

Really could do without this before my wedding but i'll argue my case all the way.
