Any IT contractors here?

I have a Ltd but I find contracts via agencies so yes it is my own "business" but I do not deal directly with clients as such.0

How about taking the hourly, but with a minimum of a 5 hr call?0

Big dilemma as REALLY do not want to take (terrible T&C comparing to my previous ones)it but have been out of work for a bit so need some money coming in and there really isn't much around in my field locally... apart from the Qatar one LOL
Thats trickier if your on the bench, I took a low rate last year to get some big 4 consultancy on my cv, which has paid off. I would refresh your CV on all the contract job sites to get the phone ringing again, also update your Linkedin.
Any negotiation on pay rates and terms with the current offer at all.
Might be worth asking questions re: qatar on http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/forum24-qatar.aspx0 -

No negotiation at all - they are very aware that there is nothing in London at the moment at all and have not been for a good while.
LinkedIn and all others up to date.
Just got the contract on the email... will wait a day or two to sign hoping something else comes up - not likely till June at least though.
And 1 month notice - may need to argue about that at least.0 -
Oh that Qatar - would not go for it, some places are really more suited to men...lol0

What business would require an IT trainer to work nights? the odd weekend maybe but certainly not a regular occurrence.....

System going live will involve floor walking 24/7 in addition to regular training sessions0

I'm not sure that's accurate at all. What's your field/experience? Should you be boning up on other tech ready for a lot of co's new FY June/July...?gettingready wrote: »there is nothing in London at the moment at all and have not been for a good while.
I'd expect the next 18-24m to overall be rather huge for technical IT trainers0 -
I am not a technical trainer as such - my field is very specific to healthcare (hence 24/7 cover may be necessary)0
