I've just taken on a larger mortgage with my husband as we are about to move to a larger house - hopefully to make a more permanent home. We will own 35% of the property from the start but our aim is also to bring down our mortgage enough that we will comfortably be able to get mortgages to buy a few smaller properties to rent out. I'm not sure how achievable this is yet as we are only just beginning our journey, but it is the dream! :) Hope your plans go well.
    Current mortgage amount: £144,200

    Thanks for popping by ahealthiermoo.

Sounds like were at a very similar stage. We moved into our house last year and we really love our new home.

It's hard to know when to bite the bullet and go for buy to let isn't it? I'm going to put it In the back burner for the moment until I get my mortgage at least past the 200k mark

So hubby wfh today and asked me to get him a coffee on way back. I was soooooo tempted to get myself one, but resisted and transferred another £2 to my wee savings account that will go to the mortgage when it builds up. This will def keep me motivated!!!

I was surprised by how much we made on eBay as well. Anything we didn't sell we plan on taking to a car boot in a few weeks. Anything that doesn't sell there will go to the charity shops!

I haven't done a car boot sale for ages. We did a few when we moved last year and usually make £100 ish. I love it for meeting people and grounding myself.

I think every top end exec should do a car boot sale. I met a man who did a car boot sale every Sat and he used the money to do his weekly shop on the way home. Also met this lovely woman from Romania and she came to the UK to be an architect. She told me her whole life story and it was amazing!!! I work with a lot of people who are contracting and paid very well ( not me unfortunately) and on talking about what we got up to at the weekend they were talking about mitchelin star dinners they'd had and I started telling all the story's of the car boot sale and how it was such good fun lol

    I'm such a devil!
