The funeral and cremation are this Saturday around noon.
Still no sign of gardener and funeral director is coming round this afternoon to pick up an outfit for DH and a form he needs. No point fretting about the garden but it helps me realise this is too big and I really need to downsize.
Once funeral is over DDs and SIL will help me contact EA to arrange an Open Day and see if that helps a sale.
Managed to hang washing outside but it did not do my back any good so having a sit down and a browse on here."This site is addictive!"

Had some rain this morning, luckily I did all the washing yesterday. Brightening up a bit now though
so I might go and potter in the garden for a bit.
camelot1001 condolences to your friend and her family xxx
Elona I will be thinking of you and the family on Saturday xxx.
Talking of wills we really must get one done, you never expect to need one and I am loathe to let the grubbyment get their filthy hands on my children's inheritance that we scrimped and scraped for.
Right off for a potter

I haven't got a clue as to who I want to receive my personal chattels after I die. Personal chattels.... The only thing I own really is a house but on hubbys death it would mean only our children would inherit from his estate and not my children from my first marriage.
I would feel really mean if I wanted the house to be sold and divided between the children and my husband because it would then mean hubby wouldn't have anywhere to live.
As it is ive told him. If I die before him, sell the house and have a good time with the proceeds.:D
Meanwhile, I keep looking at bungalows. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I keep looking at bungalows too as I have realised how big the garden is and how DH used to spend all day out there.
So glad I nagged him to retire early at 63, buy this house with big garden that he loved and that we made our wills a few years ago.
Funeral director due in the next half hour so going to put kettle on.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Hope all goes well with the funeral director Elona. I'm sure you will pick something nice for your beloved to wear. You know what he liked best and what you liked him in too.
I would have to sell my house if hubby left me a widow anyway. I couldn't cope with the garden either and financially I'd be stuffed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all,
Dentist this morning to have impression taken for new 2 tooth denture to replace ones which were loose and had to be removed......will be happy when its done as am fed up with my lisp and inability to eat an apple!
Pleasant day cloudy at times, but no rain so far....wash to go out when I get round to moving my arris......am very lazy/tired these days so have to psych myself up to moving.....takes 15 mins to persuade myself out of bed and into the shower.
OH decided that he was hungry after I had been to dentist, so we went to his favourite hotel in town for lunch, so no dinner being cooked in Mean Mansions, there are lots of fixings in fridge for a light meal so it will be "self catering" tonight.
Elona.....please be careful, you cant do everything at once.
I could only persuade OH to make a will last year....he had this notion that if he made one he would die shortly thereafter....he can be a stupid g, t sometimes! Anyhow its done now, not madly happy with what we have done.....very difficult to divide things fairly when there are 7 divisions to be made.
Managed to get a gel lift which I can transfer from one shoe to another in B..ts, there are 2 in apack and cost me €20, so I hope that they will work.
Enjoy the rest of your day,

I did ask hubby if he wanted me to make a will last year sometime. He said he wasn't bothered and since he would be paying I left it. I don't think I can get a will done in Shopandscan vouchers (yet).:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

We both made our Wills so soon as we'd got married; whoever kicks the bucket first, 'tother one gets it all. Simples.
Elona hang in there, sweetie; I know all the "official" stuff is awful, but your friends here are with you in spirit. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
