5USA background sound/music problems

Hi, for some reason on my LG TV the background sound/music on 5USA (through built in freeview), as well as other odd channels like Yesterday, have been going 'off-tune' for the last few months.


Its only on these particular channels, happens during the adverts as well, and never affects the speaking.


I've had the TV for about a year now... does this happen to anyone else and would anyone know if it is the TV that's at fault? It's driving me mad so any advice or help would be great....thanks

Have you tried retuning?.

You may have set the sound on your TV to "amplify" or "voice" mode which will make the music sound odd. There was also a discussion somewhere about US TV shows being shown over here (5, 5USA?) with higher pitched voices (due to frequency change in transferring from US to UK format). May be a red-herring.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try retuning and fiddle with the sound settings. If that fails, would it be worth me sending the TV off to be looked at?

It really is bizarre because it's only those specific channels (channel 5 itself is OK) and as I watch a lot of these American shows (NCIS etc) it's really annoying. Also it is definitely on the adverts too.
